my soul knows it very well

this is such an important collection of images

It’s looking into a ninety year old woman’s eyes and seeing them light up when she talks about her ten kids. Or the way a single dad holds his small son and helps explain the world around him. The war vet who jokes with all the youngster about our fashion and trends. A middle aged mother who is at wits ends with her kids, accepting the kind gesture of a cup of coffee and the assurance that she can rest even if its just these few minutes.

Something is happening in Graham. Something I cannot explain in tangible ways. God is moving through his church, reaching broken people, lost souls, the unlovely. They are finding the beauty that comes in being in Jesus and it floors me in awe. This is the God of Abraham, Moses, the mighty David. The mover, shaker, warrior hearted Lord. His power is so evident when I meet these people, and see how such unending love can flip this world upside down.

Photo montage of me tormenting my dog. He is unimpressed.

*Reads one whole page of draft EIS* Yup, ready for a break now.

“Two flowers make a garden.”

Strikingly beautiful wisdom from one of the most incredible women I know. Pam Brannon is a saint.

I’m just really looking forward to reflecting in the forest a bit this weekend. Yeah, that will be nice.

I wish I could find a word for the emotion this makes me feel. Nostalgic for things that haven’t happened? Anticipating the unknown. But knowing its going to be beautiful. Words evade me…
